In just a few short days I will depart on the study abroad program of a lifetime. During the semester, a group of 20 students (including myself), our professor and her husband will visit five countries abroad. This program, through St. Olaf College, offers the unique opportunity for students and faculty to gain a broader global perspective all while surrounded by other students who share an interest in exploring the world and broadening their education. However, aside from our school and interest in this program, we each come from a unique background and fields of study. While on this journey, we will study a diverse range of topics through courses focused on citizenship and identity, public health, political economy, and political transition and transformation viewed through art. For me, this experience will be unforgettable and surely eye opening, so I hope you enjoy following along!
